Hill Country Artists

- Beckendorf, Charles - His subject matter is diverse... from wildlife and western to landscape and nostalgia. His prints range from small color reproductions to large hand watercolored original lithographs. His books are beautiful, entertaining, and educational. Fredericksburg.
- Benini - Contemporary paintings and sculpture of artist, Benini, from the social statements and surrealistic pieces of the early 70s and 80s, through his 20-year focus on the symbol of the rose and his innovative shaped paintings, to the latest illusionistic shaped "starworks" created in the Texas Hill Country. Benini transforms familiar geometric and organic shapes into lyrical, seemingly multi-dimensional artworks on canvas. - Bush, Nancy - Her pursuit of art has taken her to many beautiful places in the world to study and paint a wide variety of subject matter. "Landscape is my love and is always a challenge, spiritually and emotionally. The variety and vastness of it can sometimes be overwhelming." Fredericksburg.
- Carr, Alan - Creates museum-quality rocking horses from Texas mesquite. Each horse is lovingly hand-crafted, fitted with a hand-tooled circa 1890 western saddle, and is definately today's western heirloom for many generations to come. - Chukran, Bobbi A. - Bright, colorful, fun, and quirky artist; and book author and writer. Leander.
- Coon, Nancy Reams - Nancy draws from the historic rock architecture and unique landscape of the Texas Hill Country for much of her material. Working in a variety of media (watercolor, pen and ink, acrylic, charcoal), she captures the spirit of her subjects, resulting in an image that conveys history and vitality as well as visual delight. - DeaKyne Designs - Creating custom etched glass in the Texas Hill Country. Specializing in Texas, western, and wildlife scenes for architectural and "works of art" panels, using multi-stage carved, shaded, and sandblasted glass. Spring Branch.
- Dittman, Karen A. - Artist and Fredericksburg native, now works and teaches at Art of the Loop Studio Retreat. The Loop is a quiet country retreat in the midst of the beautiful Highland Lakes of the Texas Hill Country. Swimming and caving adventure activites are included in the curriculum, along with lectures and supervised labs by noted artists and teachers. Kingsland.

- Fox, James - James began his professional life in music. After a few years of teaching he became a school principal. His passion for fine art photography was so overwhelming that he left the teaching profession and began chasing the light. Fredericksburg.
- Glenn, Pat - "From the shores of the Texas Hill Country." I'm an old geezer who grew up on the Texas coast and lived there most of my life. I was a lifelong pen and ink artist until I became enamored with watercolors. Blanco.

- Hodges, Annette - Although most of her works are scenes from Mexico, Annette is equally at ease portraying other subject matter. A native of Texas, she often paints the sparkling streams of the Hill Country. Her landscapes are likewise portrayals of the color and mood of the land so dear to her. - John Bennett's Rodeo Studio - A working studio and gallery of fine Western bronze sculptures located in the Heart of the Texas Hill Country. Fredericksburg.
- Kathy Weigand Photography - Hill Country Images - Services include commercial work, assignments, events, portraits, and weddings. Working primarily with Texas Mesquite, we attempt to honor the wood and highlight it's natural beauty. Each curve is carefully created to match the natural curve of the mesquite top. - Malson, Ken - A contemporary artist who does modern paintings as well as wood sculpture and creative furniture. Ken works in four mediums: oil paint, printmaking, construction, and art furntiture. Hunt.
- Marie, Kathleen - Nationally recognized artist. A deep love and connection to nature is what inspires Kathleen's art as well as her lifestyle. Kathleen's unique art medium of pyrography is a superb blending of realistic rendering within the abstract character of wood grain. Pyrography translates to fire drawing. Kathleen's technique involves burning images into wood with a delicate electric pen and then sometimes applying color. Like a sculptor, she sees pictures and stories in the wood. Johnson City.
- Massaro, Catherine - Over a span of 30 years, Catherine has worked in a variety of media and with a number of subjects including landscape, still life, and figurative work in oils, pastels, water colors, graphite, lithography, and monoprints. Hunt.
- Napper, Steven - Born and raised in west Texas, he currently resides and has his own art gallery in the Texas Hill Country. Steven handles several mediums with distinctive freshness and strong use of color. His interaction of warm and cool, high and low contrast, strong color, and his skills as a draftsman have made his work easy to distinguish and highly sought. Ingram.
- Pendleton, James D. - Landscapes and figures painted in oils and watercolors reflect an accurate depiction of the nude nature. His painting talent can be viewed in private collections throughout the United States, Europe, South America, and fine art galleries in Texas. Bandera.
- Rogers, Becky - Is inspired by the Hill Country landscapes, windmills, and bluebonnets. Becky also paints a wide variety of subjects including still lifes and florals. She is a member of the Boerne Area Artist's Association and part owner of the Carriage House Gallery of Artists. Boerne.
- Tunstall, Charles R. - Tunstall Photography - Texas art with Cajun flair. Kerrville.
- Watson, Kristy - Kristy has been painting since 1986. She balances her time between marketing the Ground Control Horseshoes, the graphic design business, painting, and trail riding with her friends, and volunteering for the Agricultural Heritage Museum. Boerne.

- Art of the Loop Studio Retreat - The Loop is a quiet country retreat in the midst of the beautiful Highland Lakes of the Texas Hill Country. - Fredericksburg Artists' School - Located on 20 picturesque acres situated along Baron's Creek. The studio sits on one edge of the property and has full north light exposure making it an ideal painting studio. - Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council - (CTFAC) A non-profit fine arts presenter organization. Each year CTFAC sponsors or co-sponsors a variety of events that include music, theater, dance, and art exhibits. CTFAC also sponsors children's theater, youth concerts, art camps, and public school Art-in-Education programs, many of which serve rural schools in the eight-county service area: Bosque, Comanche, Eastland, Erath, Hamilton, Hood, Palo Pinto, and Somervell counties.
