County Historical Society - We operate two museums, the
largest being the Pioneer Museum Complex which was created in 1956 when
the Historical Society bought the home, smokehouse and barn of Henry
Kammlah and turned it into a small museum. Since then six major
structures have been added. The second museum we operate is the
Vereinskirche. This was the first museum the city of Fredericksburg had
when the Historical Society opened it in 1935. Today we have permanent

rotating photograph exhibits. We also have books and souvenirs. Fredericksburg.

Country Museum - Housed in the Captain Charles Schreiner
home, which was built in 1879. Captain Schreiner moved from his Turtle

1869. In 1879, Hermann Stiller built the south portion of the house,
with the remainder of the home and the decorative rock work being
completed in 1896. During his long and exciting life, Captain Schreiner
was a cowboy, a Texas Ranger, a country store manager, a Civil War
soldier, a cattle rancher, a marketer of wool and mohair, a banker, and
a philanthropist. Open Wednesday through Saturday 11:30am to 3:30Pm. Kerrville.

of the Pacific War - Originally named The Admiral Nimitz
Museum and housed solely in the historic Nimitz Hotel, the Museum has

in the continental United States dedicated exclusively to telling the
story of the Pacific Theater battles of World War II. Located on a
