Fort East Martello Museum & Gardens - Designed after the nearly impregnable coastal Martello watchtowers in Italy, it has 8-foot thick granite walls built during the Civil War.  Today it is home to a vast collection of Key West and Key's artifacts and historical records as well a military memorabilia.  Located in Key West.  2/10

Fantasy Fest - 10-day street party by 50,000 to 100,000 people every October since 1979.  Much like Mardi Gras, Fantasy Fest is an adult event, including many costumes, body painting, and floats.  Located in Key West.  2/10

Key West Garden Club and the West Martello Tower - A Civil War fort and a National Historic Site that is also the Garden Club's meeting and educational facility, guests are invited to stroll the brick pathways through graceful arched courtyards and lush, colorful foliage.  Located in Key West.  2/10

Key West Wildlife Center - Located inside the Indigenous Park (right next to the Bocce courts and across from the White Street Pier), is a sanctuary for wild birds, containing several acres of native plants and wildlife.  The park has a quaint nature trail that leads to a fresh water pond, where one can see an Anhinga perched on a branch sunning herself, an Iguana snacking on some vegetation in a tree, and many fresh water turtles in the pond.  Located in Key West.  3/10

Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary - The 2,800 square nautical mile Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary (FKNMS) surrounds the entire archipelago of the Florida Keys and includes the waters of Florida Bay, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Atlantic Ocean.  Blue Star is a program established by the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary to reduce the impact of divers and snorkelers on the coral reef ecosystem of the Florida Keys.  2/10
Florida Keys Wild Bird Center - Walk through its tropical hammock forest with a chance to see endangered local birds like pelicans and osprey.  At MM93.6 in Tavernier.  2/10

John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park - America's first underwater state park.  It has a beach, nature trails through mangrove swamps, and coral reefs where you can snorkel, scuba, or take a glass-bottom boat tour.  Located at MM102.5 in Key Largo.  2/10
Lignumvitae Key Botanical State Park - A 280-acre virgin forest with old-growth gumbo-limbo, mahogany, lignum vitae, and fig trees.  Located at MM78.5 in Islamorada.  2/10
National Key Deer Refuge - 85,000 acres, established in 1957 to protect and preserve its dog-sized Key deer and other wildlife resources in the Florida Keys.  Based at MM30.5 in Big Pine Key.  2/10

The Turtle Hospital - Opened in 1986 with four main goals: 1) rehab injured sea turtles and return them to the wild, 2) educate the public through outreach programs to local schools, 3) conduct and assist with research which aids the sea turtles (in conjunction with state universities), and 4) work toward environmental legislation which makes the beaches and water safe and clean for sea turtles.  Located at MM48.5 in Marathon.  3/10
